Reno Cost Extension — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Reno Cost ("the extension") is designed to collect nothing.
What it does
On supported home-listing sites (Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin), the extension reads the square footage and location (state) already displayed on the listing and computes an estimated renovation cost locally, in your browser. It then shows that estimate as a card.
What it does not do
- No data collection. It does not send any data to us or any third party.
- No network requests. All calculator logic and the cost index are bundled in the extension; nothing is fetched at runtime.
- No analytics, telemetry, cookies, or tracking.
- No accounts, no sign-in.
- It does not read, store, or transmit your browsing history, personal information, or any page content beyond the square footage and location needed for the on-page calculation (used momentarily and never stored or sent).
What is stored
Only your own optional setting — the "preview state" you pick in the popup — saved with chrome.storage.local on your device. You can clear it by removing the extension.
Permissions
storage: to persist your optional preview-state setting locally.- Host access to the three listing sites (zillow.com, realtor.com, redfin.com): so the content script can read the on-page square footage and location to compute the estimate.
